6th, 7th, & 8th grade students are welcome and encouraged to join us on the 1st & 3rd Sundays of the month (5th Sunday when there is one) for a fun time of fellowship during the regular school year. This group gives our middle school students a chance to bond and build relationships with each other and to grow in their faiths together as they begin to thoughtfully consider what their faith means to them. We gather for fun, for worship, and for discipleship which means each week we will do all sorts of fun activities including retreats and attending Disney's Night of Joy! For more information please contact Kenny Champagne at Kenny@ststephen.org Sunday School
Sunday School for 6th, 7th, & 8th graders follows the same schedule and our children's education. They focus on Here We Stand curriculum and meet at 10am on Sunday mornings in the Parish Hall classroom. Participation is required for confirmation, but all are welcome anytime!
Confirmation Class
Confirmation is for 6th, 7th & 8th graders who are ready to begin their adult lives in the faith.. Catechism in the church is the extension of the baptismal promises we as parents and the church made to our children when they were baptized into Christ's body. Catechism is NOT primarily informational, though you will learn a ton over the two years. It's primarily relational...it's about you and God, you and other disciples, and you and the world that you live in. Confirmation is held the 2nd and 4th Sunday of the month from 5pm-7pm.
Our objectives with catechism are simple...
That you become a passionate lover and follower of Jesus
That you become passionate about His Church and active in its worship
That you become passionate about the world He loves
That you become active pray-ers
That you become confident and clear enough in your faith that you can stand before the congregational council and the congregation and clearly state your faith in Jesus Christ, and the ways you intend to live this faith out actively in your lives going forward.
Servant Events
Because Jesus calls His disciples to engage, encourage, and build up this world, we will have intentional opportunities to serve others built into our catechetical journey...once each in the fall, winter, and spring. Generally, they will be scheduled between units throughout the year. Participation in these events is included in the 15 required sessions we'll have throughout the year.
